Born in Valencia (Spain), Paloma Chiner has studies in Spanish Language and Art History. She studied voice at the “Joaquin Rodrigo” Conservatory of Valencia with professors Gloria Fabuel and Ana Luisa Chova. She starts her soloist career during her studies, being awarded the “Ana María Sánchez” prize at “Callosa d’en Sarria Lyric Festival”, and a Mention of Honor in the “IBLA International Awards” 2012. She has continued taking master classes with artists such as Ileana Cotrubas, Ernesto Palacio, Raina Kavaibanska, Elena Pankratova, Antonio Lemmo, Dalton Baldwin and Miguel Zanetti.

Ever since, Paloma has carried an intense concert activity, with highlights that include New York’s Carnegie Hall, New York’s University and Radford University, Virginia.

Paloma Chiner has performed: SANTUZZA in Cavalleria Rusticana, SALUD in La Vida Breve, DONNA ANNA in Don Giovanni, ELISABETTA in Don Carlo, MERCEDES in Carmen and BERTA in Il barbiere di Siviglia. She also performed such zarzuela roles as ADRIANA (Los Gavilanes, J. Guerrero), LUISA FERNANDA (Luisa Fernanda, M. Torroba), DOLORES (La Dolorosa, J. Serrano) and REINA (La Corte de Faraón, V. Lleó).

In the symphonic repertoire she has performed Verdi’s Requiem, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Requiem and Vesperae solennes de confessore, Brahms’s Ein Deutsches Requiem, Haydn’s The Seasons, Schubert’s G-Dur Mass and Vivaldi’s Gloria. 

As a contemporary music singer, she has participated twice in the International Contemporary Music Festival ENSEMS: first interpreting T. Johnson’s “Door” and then producing and interpreting “Ego”, a scenic project that premiered three new compositions.

During her career, the Spanish soprano worked with maestros such as Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Ibrahim Yazici, Jorge Rubio, Manuel Galduf, Enrique García-Asensio and Miguel Ángel Gómez-Martínez in different theaters and auditoriums, such as Palau de la Música and Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Carnegie Hall in New York, Thisted Musik Theater in Skive (Denmark), Teatro Guimerá de Tenerife, Teatro de Mérida or Auditorio de Salamanca.

In 2015, she creates the ensemble Plaerdemavida along with Pablo-García Berlanga (piano) and Jorge Fanjul (cello). Their first recorded work, “Azulão”, was presented with high success all around Spain, also winning the “Concurso Internacional de Music de Cofrentes” and being given a special mention as Most Distinguished Musicians at the “IBLA International Awards 2017”.

In January 2020 she will make her debut as Tosca at the San Carlo Theater in Naples.
